On the eve of the Merseyside Derby in 2021, the four football clubs on Merseyside, Everton FC, Liverpool FC, Marine AFC and Tranmere Rovers FC, put aside old rivalries to come together with charity Crimestoppers and launch a new initiative to help reduce crime.

The four clubs are at the heart of the community and want to deliver a powerful message that everyone can play a part in reducing crime by reporting it to Crimestoppers, as an independent charity which gives the public a safe and trusted means of giving information about crime anonymously.

Through the work of Everton in the Community, the LFC Foundation, Marine in the Community and Tranmere Rovers Community Foundation, countless lives are changed, young people are supported and thousands of people across Merseyside benefit each year.

With the clubs joining together, this campaign is using the power and reach of Football to change communities and help stop exploitation, abuse, and violence.

This powerful unifying message, using both traditional and new media, community events and programmes, is reaching out to those supporters and communities most affected by crime and the harm caused by crime.

The campaign was launched by the Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell and was attended by representatives of Liverpool FC, Everton FC, Tranmere Rovers and Marine FC. They were joined by Everton Club Ambassador Graeme Sharp, Liverpool legend David Fairclough and representatives of Crimestoppers and Merseyside Police.

This new partnership has one goal: to make Merseyside safer for all.
